About Our Presentation

The City of Oceanside is currently constructing Pure Water Oceanside, a project that will purify recycled water to create a new local source of high-quality drinking water that is clean, safe, drought-proof, and environmentally sound. Scheduled to be completed before the end of 2021, Pure Water Oceanside will be the first operating advanced water purification facility in San Diego County.

The $67 million project will treat flows from the City’s San Luis Rey Water Reclamation Facility. An Advanced Water Purification Plant using Membrane Filtration (MF), Reverse Osmosis (RO), and Ultraviolet Advanced Oxidation Process (UVAOP) is being constructed to provide 3 to 5 million gallons per day, or more than 30% of the City of Oceanside’s water supply. The project also includes 2 to 3 injection wells that will be used to place the purified water into the Mission Groundwater Basin.

The presentation will describe the planning and design phases of this stages of this multifaceted project. Project innovations and lessons learned will also be provided.

Make plans now to join us August 19 for this timely, informative presentation. It promises to be an insightful look at a rapidly emerging technology sure to impact many places in the very near future.
