Construction projects gain significant value when public agencies and private firms collaborate in a meaningful way. This is seen most especially in the delivery of the finished product, The best way to attain such steadfast partnerships is through useful alignment of each group’s internal organizations, thereby creating a truly effective team effort.

To illustrate this value, our November presentation will focus on “True Collaboration Examples under the Chino Basin Program.”

The Chino Basin Program (CBP) is an indirect potable reuse project with the primary goal to increase water resilience and sustainability for  the Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA). To attain this, IEUA partnered with the City of Rialto to bring an external recycled water source to new plant they’re building for advanced treatment. Capital delivery of the program was ensured through an innovative partnership with Jacobs Engineering. Finally, two progressive design-build teams, J.F. Shea & TetraTech, along with Rados & Stantec, were brought into the partnership to help achieve cost certainty, and to realize the benefits of receiving value engineering in the life span of the projects.

Together, this collaborative partnership is developing a remarkably efficient series of innovative water treatment and storage projects structured to modernize regional water supplies, storage, and delivery systems. Once implemented, these projects will address the immediate needs of the region while unlocking the potential for additional storage and water recycling projects in the future.

To learn more about the nature of the partnership that’s been forged by these many varied groups be certain to attend OCWA’s November Industry Insight on Wednesday, November 18.

Make plans now to join us. The partnership ideas you learn today may result in meaningful collaborations tomorrow!
